so i think i've decided on the university that i'd like to go to for my graduate degree. of course yes it's in my comfort zone but it's a great university. i'm going to apply to the university of houston clinical counseling program with a major focus on clinical counseling and a minor focus in neuropsychological development
Awesome! Sounds like a lot of hard work, but worth it! Good luck with applications and such :)

the thing is i more or less have to get a graduate degree to pursue something in the psychology field. i know UH it's a great school and in my comfort zone, hopefully dh will be able to get a job nearby there when he gets out

i looked at UT-austin too and amazingly their ph.d program isn't that much more competitive than UH's. UH doesn't have a separate master's program so perhaps that's why. UH you earn a master's while earning a ph.d. i am going to talk to an advisor about doing a master's up here while dh is still in but we'll see.
Sounds like an awesome program!! I agree, can't do much with a psych degree unless you have an advanced degree...stinks!!
