What kind of wine do you have with pork chops? Any recommendations? DB is a wine snob and I'm making him dinner when he comes down here, so I want to make sure it is a good one!

I really like a nice blush-so yummy!:P Victoria 08-28-2007, 09:02 PM If you ever want a good dessert wine, I can recommend you one. :D Aurora 08-28-2007, 09:05 PM If you ever want a good dessert wine, I can recommend you one. :D Do you know one that would go well with Panna Cotta? I think I've decided on some French wine a coworker recommended (if I can find it) If not I may just go to the store and pick out the red wine in the prettiest bottle :lol Victoria 08-28-2007, 09:14 PM I don't know what Panna Cotta is. :( Aurora 08-28-2007, 09:18 PM I don't know what Panna Cotta is. :( It is kind of like fancy jello :lol That is the best way to describe it. It is an Italian dessert and the name means "cooked cream" The basic flavor is just vanilla but you serve it with whatever fruit you want (I'm going to use raspberries for DB and blueberries for me I think) Victoria 08-28-2007, 09:20 PM Oh so it's like creme brulee?! The muscat wine(dessert wine) I drink tastes yummy with creme brulee or even cheesecake! I'm so clueless when it comes to anything alocholish Victoria 08-28-2007, 09:49 PM NP! I learned about this wine when I went wine tasting for the very first time a few months ago. You can learn a whole lot about tastes when going wine tasting. The best part is the wine tasting we attended was FREE! Aurora 08-28-2007, 09:53 PM NP! I learned about this wine when I went wine tasting for the very first time a few months ago. You can learn a whole lot about tastes when going wine tasting. The best part is the wine tasting we attended was FREE! Oooo...that is nice. DB would love to go on wine tastings (esp. free ones) but I haven't quite acquired the taste for wine yet. He is totally getting spoiled just having me buy wine. I have a feeling if we ever get married I won't have a choice :lol USNFFG52 08-28-2007, 10:12 PM Another dessert wine that my wife likes is moscato, Sutter Home has it. Serve chilled to get the fruity taste from it. bellezzagoffa 09-14-2007, 10:54 PM Okay sooo I may not be the one to ask about 'good wines' but I haven't had one I don't like yet using my method....I pretty much go to the liquor store find the wine with the most entertaining bottle label or name (big eyed fish, 3 blind moose, big red truck...the one with the sparkley monkey, the funny looking koala, or the kangaroo ass...yeah they keep going) I generally don't follow the this wine goes with this...that wine goes with that...because if you find a wine you like...it is a lot like a good drink or a tasty beer..you stick with it...well except dessert in that case you want to find something a little sweeter...maybe a cranberry or apple wine...i like a reisling personally :o) (What can I say I am a bit of a wine-o) carolina76 04-26-2008, 09:48 PM my recommendation is drink what you like, you can use the pairings as a guideline, but I find that if you guys like red, drink red, but if you only like white, drink white. Have fun.. |
