I think this is where I should post this question :)
My husband will be deployed to Iraq this coming March. I was origanally going to go live with my parents in Missouri with our daughter and will be brand new baby. Thinking about it more, I don't think it's going to be a good idea because I am used to running my own house and if I moved in with my parents I would be living in their house under their rules. My husband wants me to live with someone because he knows I will get very lonely while he's gone. I was thinking about getting an apartment and finding another military wife/girlfriend to room with. Anyway... What have any of you done while your husband was deployed? How many of you moved to be near your parents? Have any of you moved back in with your parents?

I think it is a better idea for you to stay where you are. your family and friends can always come see you at your house. I am sure he would feel better coming back on R&R to HIS home or home permanently when he returns. Also I am not sure how old your children are but... its goona be a hard enough adjustment for them with him leaving. You just up and moving may make things a little harder for them. good luck with your decision. This of course is just my opinion.

I would stay put. I want to stay in OUR home, not go somewhere else. It makes the time pass more. I keep busy with the military wives here on base.

I did get a roomate once before we had kids & it is STILL hard that way-you still don't have your own space etc & I have NEVER moved home at all
