Ok a little over a month ago...our dog tore a hole in the wall of one of our bathrooms(long story). Hubby says that he couldnt call housing to fix it because of the car engine in our garage (he let a buddy of his work on his car in our garage...big housing no no) so the hole is still there. Well we are getting ready to have to clear post so we can move and of course we have to clear housing.
So my question is this...should we call in a work order before he goes to housing to start clearing to get it fixed? Has anyone ever had to deal with holes in the wall? I fully expect to have to pay for it but I'm not sure how bad it's going to be.
I'll be great full for any input!

You will be responsible for fixing it or they will charge you. Have you tried to patch it yourselves?

call it in now, because when you go to clear quarters they might charge you more because sometimes they are just jerks like that. Plus when you move out you have to pay them up front for the cost of the repair or they don't let you "move out" making it impossible for you to get housing at your new duty station. just be prepared for that number

try to patch it before you call you can go to Home Depot or Lowe...and buy some plaster and wire/mesh and fix it up
if you have textured walls they even sell a spray can that will look the same...try a few test squirts but it works
we had a hole in the hallway or our house in VA from the door knob going thru the wall and then the kids had messed with it some so it was a little bigger after that but we just patched it and housing didn't charge us for it.

I would just fix it myself...It's really not that hard.

We had a hole in our wall and we just fixed it. If you caused the damage, you have to fix or pay for it.
Good Luck!
