how much notice did housing give you from your own experience?? like say your on a 3 month wait list.. did they call you like a month before and give you a date?? i know everyones different but im just wondering how soon you can be given an actual date to move into something.

when we first moved into housing they said we were next on the list, we waited a month for them to call finally i called and found out that they were waiting for us to call them. :screwy after that though we were almost always able to get into a house right away.. Sometimes being the squeeky wheel will get you the grease. :wink

I have no idea, we never really had to wait before.

i've heard many times that you need to call them and keep up with it or you kinda just get passed over

in Va they told us 12-18 mth wait on the list...i called at 6 months to keep us on the list...then at 3 months to check on it...then again about 45 days before my lease was up...at that point i called about 3-4 times with in a 2 week time frame and they had a couple places open up for us to choose from...i was able to give our landlord a 30 day notice
