Mailyn is now 12 1/2 months old and a very picky eater. She used to eat everything I gave her, even if she wasn't crazy about it. Now she refuses potato's, pasta, pieces of meat by itself and eggs. Even if they have cheese on them. :sigh I try so many different things. I have to have a plan B and even C for every meal.
If any of you have toddlers at this stage and you know of some meals they really like I'd love to know your recipes. I'm running out of ideas.

Cameron went through a period of months where all he would eat was oatmeal and nutra grain bars... so that's what i fed him. Now he is 2 1/2 and eats everything! My pedi always told me if all they want is mac n cheese for every meal at the age then just give it to them.

OUr pediatrician always has told me to feed my daughter whatever she'll eat (within reason)... she said if it's decent and she'll eat it, feed it to her. Kylee has always been a pretty good eater though. She loves yogurt and fruit and eggs and meat. She never really liked oatmeal or grits or even that toddler cereal. She didn't like baby food...I had to cook real veggies and smash then up. Things like bananas, beans, yogurt, whole grain bread, avacado, green beans, cooked carrots are all very healthy things that most kids will eat. You could even try to offer her some type of "dip" to dip her things in to make it more fun to eat. That is my trick with lots of foods. Like, offer a "yogurt dip" with fruit, or a light ranch dressing with veggies even cooked ones, or tamato sauce (rather than ketchup) for meats or veggies...
the dip thing really seems to work:)

I hear ya, I hear ya!!!!!
Ethan was like that too!!! Sometimes it was because his teeth were bothering him.
Sometimes and I still do, have to force a bite into Ethan's mouth just so he can actually TASTE it. Once he tastes it, he's got a look of "Ummmm this is good" and opens up for more!
What makes me even more mad when he refuses to eat something w/o even trying a bite first. Then you KNOW they're just being stubborn...

I'm having the same problem with my 3 year old. Have been having it for awhile now. He doesn't like to eat meat at all, and while I think thats fine if you get enough nutrion from other things. But he doesn't so meat would be a nice addition to his diet kwim?

If you are worried about not getting enough nutrients. Give them pediasure. Glen drank that when he wouldn't eat anything. Now, we are trying to get the milk into him. He will not drink it. Anything with calcium is for him.
Don't worry and fix what she likes and offer stuff from your plate. You would be surpised what she will eat.

For breakfast I made/make Ethan "gourmet" oatmeal with either a fresh banana or frozen blueberries.
I just follow the stovetop directions on the oatmeal container, but instead of using water or regular milk, I use vanilla soymilk to add MORE flavor. If I'm using frozen blueberries then I'll add that to the saucepan. If I'm making it with a banana, then I'll just cook up the oatmeal and the soymilk then mash in the bananas with a wisk. :)
Being the parent of a semi-picky toddler has really improved my gourmet cooking skills....LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what she does too! Uhg, it drives me crazy! So that's when plan B and C come in. Because if I try to get her to open up it turns into a HUGE fit.

Mailyn won't eat meat either, she doesn't like things that take work to chew. And it will be just little tender bits, she still fusses. I'll tear off a piece of bread and hide it in there, she catches on after a few bites though. :rolleyes
