My newborn :boy is 6 weeks old and has been crying so much lately. He's completely content when he's eating or being held, but if you put him down for more than 5 minutes, he's flipping out. The neighbors probely just love hearing it constantly...:lol . He's been like this for like the past week. They say that colic goes away when they're like 2-3 months old. I can't wait for that. He may not be colic and if not, then he's really spoiled. He gives me really no time for myself. If I want to get online for alittle while, I have to hold him. It can be hard :( . Any suggestions on what I should do???

It sounds more like acid reflux then colic. You should definetly mention it to your pediatrician so they can decide.

I was going to mention reflux also. My 1 year old has/had reflux.

Sounds like it might be reflux to me as well. You cannot really spil a baby. They need to be held alot at this stage because they are learning trust. They say dont worry about holding too much until at least after 4 months old.

My daughter had true colic. Every night at 8 she whould start screaming and would continue to scream for the next 5-6 hours. It was awful. she started at about 3 weeks old and stopped at about 10 weeks old. she would scream no matter what we did for her. Eventually I just sat with her and watched tv. I turned it up so I could hear! our Dr said there is no such thing as colic and there must be something wrong with her. he looked her over found no problems and sent us home. Her screaming was like clock work. Shed start up and we'd say oh it must be 8.
Id say if hes fine when you hold him or there is something you can do that comforts him then its not colic. He should probley see a dr to make sure everything is ok.
