Do you think that the goverment steps in too many times resulting in many kids taken away from homes without being warranted? When is it too soon or to late in taking away kids?

I think they do in some cases...our world is so pc, that when they get a complaint that a mom spanked her kid in public, they're required to remove the kids pending an investigation...it's ridiculous.

I think the government tries...but I think it fails all too often. IMO, it's another example of strict rules and regs, outlining every procedural option. The problem is, so much of it should be common sense, but there's just no room for common sense in all the bureaucracy.

I believe they fail to take action against the solid cases (google roy lechner jr there is the proof they step in when they arent needed and dont do shit when they are). I myself do believe in spanking. I use it as a last resort but I do believe in it and dont believe its abuse just the way I was brought up

This is just another symptom of the government trying to take too much control of it's citizens instead of letting them run their own lives and make their own decisions.
Of course, when it's about things like gay marriage or reproductive rights, affecting a minority of homes, the government making laws is great. As soon as it spreads to telling people how to raise their kids, affecting a majority of homes, not so great anymore.
