Is it just Murphy Canyon that is getting the A/C's or was it all SD housing? And are they putting in window units there or what? Ryan and I were talking and just curious!!

For now it was just MC... I hope we eventually all get A/Cs.. it gets too damn hot here not to have them!

We have A/C (NTC). These, along w/ most of the newer developments, were built w/ it.

They are central air units they are putting in. Can't wait to get mine!!

I have central a/c in miramar

No air in Chollas and I have heard of no plans to have air. I know you are allowed to have the window ones, but that is on us to get. I am DYING right now. Its not so bad... ;)

I asked the lady about that when we picked up our keys for our house in MC since a friend of mine will be moving into different housing soon and she said as far as she knew, MC was the only one adding central AC but what it took was MANY MANY MANY complaints to finally get the Navy to give up the big bucks for it. So get complaining!!!
We were lucky enough to move into MC at the perfect time because they installed it right before we moved in. So we're very happy campers here. :)

We have AC here in our housing in Pomerado Terrace.

They are installing A/C in most vacant units in MC. So, most people moving in from this point on should have central A/C installed. Like Aubrey said, her housing also has A/C and I think most areas allow the window units, at the least.

It took more then complaints. It took taking a petition to the local news channels last summer and having 4 NEGATIVE news stories being broadcasted

Well we need more room. I would love to stick around here and get on the waitlist for Admiral Hartman, but they don't have AC, and so that's why I was wondering if they had any plans for them in the future b/c once the waitlist is up, the heat will be over with until next year.

We want to move closer to the coast.. all three of us love the beach, and I really want to get closer to Solana Beach/Del Mar for work purposes too. So I guess we'll keep looking. :sigh

I think NTC and Gateway are the only coastal (west of I-5) housing sites that have A/C. I know Admiral Hartman doesn't but you can always install a window unit. The coast isn't usually this hot. This summer has just been weird. We have always lived on the coast and not having A/C wasn't really and issue.

So true. I used to live in Carlsbad and never had a/c there, and it was never a problem. I'd just open a window and let the coastal breeze cool everything off. This heat wave is not normal at all for the coast. Of course now that I have a/c I use it daily...

If you work in Del Mar/ Solana Beach, the commute from here wouldn't be bad at all because you'd be going against traffic, and we have the coast nearby, a/c, good neighbors... ;)

Hi, I live in MCH, and we have central A/C, it was put in B4 we moved in. it is wonderful. I have no idea about other places.

Yep, when it hit 122 out here and someone called the local news about it, THEN they changed the rules. ;)

They are doing a 60/40 split of vacant and occupied units until they are finished.
