Homeschooling was a success today. Although there were a few bumps in the road. I think things will go smoother tomorrow. Lots of fun. Does anyone else here homeschool? I go through CAVA, using the K12 curriculum

Yeah, I was very dissapointed with Miller.. Cant stand that school. That teacher last year.. :banghead LOL... Lets just say Hate is too nice of a word. Anyway.. I am loving it. lol Lots of work keeping the other 3 entertained while I work with Maddie but I think it will get better. Plus Alex will be in preschool 3 days a week. So that might makes things a bit easier. Why did you choose to homeschool?

:lol Aiden is too smart for that school. I could have pulled him after the 2nd trimester if I wanted to. The teacher admitted to me there was nothing else she could teach him for the year.

The insane amount of HOMEWORK!! Are you freaking kidding me? Your kid spends from 0750 to 1410 at school and then has to do hours of homework? :suspect Even though they may know the material left/right/backwards... they still have to do the menial homework.

Aiden ASKED to be homeschooled. We have some homeschooling neighbors who we are friends with.

Also, dh's schedule. :sigh I kinda want Aiden to see his dad when he actually is home, kwim?

We both (L) his Kindergarten teacher last year, but the other teachers didn't seem so great to me.

So far, so good today for us too. We split the day up so I could concentrate on all the kids. Let me know if you want to do field trips, the library or gym class (ahem... the pool... :teehee) together!

Yes field trips LOL. Will probably wait until we have more of a routine LOL. today was interesting, Math took an hour longer then planned, but I figured it would since she hasnt done much over the brief summer she had. Well I better go make dinner.

:lol We ordered pizza. I have too much stuff to do tonight and tomorrow we are taking a trip the library to get books for a lesson I have planned. We also have to get Gwen's glasses in the afternoon. In between all that we have lessons to do.

I have to make a star chart tonight. We decided on rewards. He had to earn 100 stars for good behavior, following directions, learning new things, etc. Then he gets a beach trip complete with picnic and ice cream once he fills the chart. :D

Love the chart idea. I will have to do something like that as well. Otherwise she wants a sticker on every paper LOL

I'm homeschooling my son for Kindergarten. I'm doing it because we'll be transfering in December, Tony's going through the chief select crap which is throwing the whole family off and I really didn't like some of the school's policies here. I'm just putting together my own curriculum since it's only kindergarten.

If you have a Teacher store near you you can get some cute little workbooks for him! I got a few for Gwen and they were cheap! Less than $2.50 each!
