View Full Version : more toy recalls for lead......... Scarlett 09-05-2007, 10:26 AM http://service.mattel.com/us/recall.asp MoMo 09-05-2007, 10:27 AM This is getting ridiculous!! Cat 09-05-2007, 10:44 AM oh is that the one about the Barbies. cause i read about that yesterday brentscrystal 09-05-2007, 10:48 AM me too... what's next? GI Joe? (no, really... I wonder!) AG2Wife 09-05-2007, 11:01 AM Im just gonna stop buying stuff from China! This is getting OLD Cat 09-05-2007, 11:10 AM i think its anything that comes from China that is the problem. Heather 09-05-2007, 12:22 PM Im curious to see if this will eventually bring some of those jobs back to America. DakotaCowgirl 09-05-2007, 12:27 PM I would rather pay more then supporting China. Keep the business local. MelissaMc424 09-05-2007, 12:27 PM Geez.. thank goodness DD doesn't have any of those toys.. This crap is getting ridiculous! Alexis 09-05-2007, 01:18 PM I'm so over it. I had to pitch so many toys a few weeks ago and some more last night when I saw the new list. If you go to Home Depot, Lowes or some place like that they have this stuff called Lead Check...its $4 and its little pencil looking things that you rub on toys, and whatever else and if they contain lead it will turn a different color. So even if toys are not on the list you can check to be sure because they are coming up with stuff everyday! Scarlett 09-05-2007, 04:17 PM we are only buying wood toys for christmas...this is nuts Cat 09-05-2007, 04:59 PM we are only buying wood toys for christmas...this is nuts oh well I wouldnt trust any wooden toys from china either after what happened with some of the wooden Thomas the tank stuff. but we got ours replaced. I am also surprised that Mattel is not doing any kind of replacements. or maybe they are and I just dont know it. Cat 09-05-2007, 05:00 PM I'm so over it. I had to pitch so many toys a few weeks ago and some more last night when I saw the new list. So even if toys are not on the list you can check to be sure because they are coming up with stuff everyday! but why would you just throw the toys away if they are doing a replacement thing because I think that they should do a replacement because its not fair to all those millions of mattel consumers to just have to throw the tainted toys away. wyochick 09-05-2007, 08:22 PM Ok I know that the lead paint thing is a big deal, but with all the recalls I just can't help but think of how different things were when we were kids. Of course we were pretty poor too but if there was a recall for one of our toys as a kid rather than throw it away and waste the money my mom would have said something like just don't put it in your mouth! Ahh how the times have changed! Scarlett 09-05-2007, 08:56 PM to clarify, we wont be buying any wood toys made in china...i prefer the haba toys from germany Ashnbri 09-06-2007, 11:20 AM This is getting ridiculous!! It really is Lux 09-06-2007, 11:34 AM Oh that's really nice, baby swings are on there. WTFman. Astra 09-06-2007, 11:53 AM i really hope my little nephews dont have any toys on that list...(one of them likes barbies too lol) this is seriously getting old and out of hand...i think maybe china is trying to kill us off O.O. Aundi 09-06-2007, 12:20 PM I heard yesterday on our news that over 80% of the toys sold in America are made in China. I just don't see how China can be totally avoided when purchasing toys here in the US. It is so ridiculous that in this day and age we are still dealing with lead based paint issues. They recalled those paints over 20 years ago here in America.....so who in the heck is even manufacturing this lead based paint:dunno |
