Im sort of new to this site. my Db is in bootcamp for the navy in Great Lakes, IL and its becomming very difficult for me. I dont really know anything about the military.. so im curious about if ill get to talk to him or when i can write letters or at least some form of communication. Also if any of you girls have any advise on keeping occupied or helping me get through this it was be great! We've been together for 3 years and have never been apart for this long without communication. I'm nervous about whats gonna happen. :sigh well thanks for listening .. im sure this place is gonna get me through!

Your DB won't be able to call but a couple times. He can write you every Sunday. You can write him as often as you like once you get his address. Don't send any boxes, food or "dirty" pictures. He can get in trouble for it.

hey i just went through this in december with my ex db and after about two weeks you should be able to get a letter every week but you can write as much as you want! i only got one phone call from him the whole time feel free to pm me beecause its all still fresh in my mind:) my db now is in the navy stationed in san diego:)

stay strong, keep buzy, and i wouldnt be alone very often it will only make you think and get sad. After it is over with you will see how fast it has gone by. If you need any thing just pm:hugs

:hi Welcome! You should start getting letters about 2 weeks after he's left and then he can write you every Sunday. I got 3 or 4 phone calls but I was pretty lucky in that regard. DB just graduated bootcamp in July so it's all still pretty fresh in my mind. PM me if you need anything at all!

welcome :hugehug it's tough, but you'll get through it. a year from now you'll look back and think "bootcamp ain't got sh*t on us". you'll find out that you're stronger than you thought. stay busy, take a class. if not in "school" then recreational. i like taking dance classes & i've started running races too.
