View Full Version : How do you cook your steaks?
Do you marinate? With what?
Do you grill? Fry? broil?
_________________________________________________________________
I like to marinate w/ italian dressing or some of the marinades out there...Then brush butter on it & the spice, if I use one.
We normally cook it on the Foreman grill, but lately I've been frying them. I think I'm going to try broiling for awhile. Trying to figure out what leaves them the most juicy.
We don't have a grill, otherwise we'd use that :(
Rachael 09-13-2007, 04:34 PM im not good at broiling them, mine come out dry :( I use the grill or else pan fry them.
Ellen 09-13-2007, 04:34 PM Grill, or broil. I usually sprinkle some kind of steak spice or garlic powder before cooking....

It's hard! You have to try it a couple times w/ the timing in order to get it just right :tired
MelissaMc424 09-13-2007, 04:35 PM Grill, broil, bake, fry.. I've made them all sorts of ways..
I usually marinate them before we grill/broil. I love trying new marinades and spice blends.
MIKOSWIFEY 09-13-2007, 04:36 PM I cook mine on a skillet usually, they end up pretty juicy. I heard that if you sear it real quick in the pan on both sides and THEN broil it til done, it is the best ever. I'm no good with a broiler though, so I haven't tried it.
garlic powder before cooking....
Hmmm...:thinking haven't tried that one yet.
Amber V 09-13-2007, 04:36 PM I marinde with steak seasoning and then throw them on grill. I like my steak well done.
Ellen 09-13-2007, 04:37 PM Hmmm...:thinking haven't tried that one yet.

Jennifer 09-13-2007, 04:45 PM Grill or broil here....
And my steak gets Emeril's Garlic Parmesan Essence for Bread rubbed into it, then sprinkled with McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning
HEIDI 09-13-2007, 04:58 PM Mostly grilled and I use A-1 NY or Chicago marinade or McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning.
Valkyrie 09-13-2007, 06:21 PM I grill until rare, with kosher salt and pepper.
Sometimes I marinade steaks in red wine, garlic and sliced red onion.
guynavywife 09-13-2007, 06:44 PM grill them low and slow...
to keep them juicy, pull them out of the fridge for about 20 mins before cooking. also let them rest about 5 mins once they are done
never cook more then 120-130 degrees. it will cook another 10 while sitting.
medium rare rocks!!!
harrisonsdream 09-13-2007, 06:45 PM usu. some salt and pepper and then plop them on the grill

Becca 09-13-2007, 07:08 PM I always eat my steaks the same way - sprinkle some Lawry's on both sides, and throw that puppy on the grill.

Potatocup 09-14-2007, 10:43 AM Weather permitting, grill, otherwise broil. I usually rub sea salt onto the fat or bone and then rub with olive oil and garlic (fresh or powder). we eat them rare so we don't cook them very long (7-8 min in broiler).
Jennygirl 09-14-2007, 10:49 AM We usually just grill them, even if its raining.
DH marinates them for about a day.
