We are still waiting on his actual paper orders but we are going to CA. He re-enlisted on September 4th for 3 years. We have to finish a year of sea duty on a frigate (have no idea what that is other then a really small ship with maybe 200 people on it). Then he is doing 2 years of shore duty in his new rate (ENFN) as a FTS (Full Time Support) personell.

He's on a LSD (dock landing ship) right now that is currently deployed. They should be back this winter. I've been looking at housing and have it narrowed down I just can't decide. My only stipulation with housing is it has to have washer/dryer hook-ups cause we have a brand new full size washer and dryer. Well they are 2 years old but my mom bought them. If I get rid of them she'd shoot me, lol.

Yes, we wanted to go to CA. He was to the point he didn't care if they gave him shore command on Mars he was going to take it. But we have a year of sea duty we will have to finish before we do our shore. I'm sure everything will go okay. I'm just happy to be off the east coast.

Congrats on the orders. We're out here, and San Diego's pretty nice, aside from being expensive.

what ffg is he going to???my husband's on an FFG out here in San Diego...orelck (sp) in murphy canyon has hook ups I'm pretty sure the rest have the washer/dryers in them already.

We just got orders to Lemoore (from San Diego) and housing has a 6 mo wait right now. Can you give me any hints or helpful information I could use in finding a home, and area? Did you like Lemoore? Cant wait to get away from the crowded wayyyyyyy too fast city! :)) But, the orders give us 2 weeks!!! yikes! Help if you can! :) LOL
