I am prepping for DH's first 6 months and I was gettin a little anxious... I mean we have never gone thru a deployment and with him gone right now for a small three week underway, I am nervous how I am gonna deal.

But last night I attended my very first Support Group and I have to say my stereotypes for these groups were blown out the window. Anytime gossip even started to emerge, it was diverted and moved on... These women are much like I have found military wives to be on SOS, super nice, sweet and just want to help everyone out.

I am not excited about DH leaving, by any means, but I am excited that I will have some amazing women from the same command to support me and likewise, me support them, thru this deployment.

That's great that the group seems so down to earth - they can definitely help make things easier!

Glad you had a good experience. May I suggest that you stay as busy as you can while he is gone. I used to have a list of projects that I wanted done by the time he got home. It kept me busy. Some of them I completed and some I didn't.

I am planning on doing the same! I work such long hours and have little projects along the way to keep me constantly busy. :D
