hi... new here and new to the military life, so i'll give a quick bio... been w/ my BF 1 1/2yrs, he's in the ANG, being deployed shortly.

i'm looking for ideas for something i can give him to take and keep with him while he's away. i've been stressing for something meaningful, but not cheesy...but also acceptable for him to have.

i really appreciate any input you may have. thank you!

First off welcome to SOS :) you could always make him a scrapbook of you guys or you could maybe make him a mixed cd or something of songs that remind him of you or whatever, I did both those things for my dh and he(L)'d em, hopefully those will give you some ideas.

lots of pics of you together...they don't have to be inappropriate, but i'm sure he wouldn't mind that! ;) DF wanted wallet sized pics too so he could keep them in his pocket...

otherwise...maybe something he can keep on his dogtags? you'll find something!

I printed out and laminated some wallet sized pictures and wrote a sweet "i love you" message on the back. I also cut out a wallet sized piece of construction paper and put on cheap lipstick and kissed all over it so he can carry my kisses with him. He takes the laminated pictures and kisses with him everywhere. So much that I had to send replacements because the lamination was coming off!

When I first found out my boyfriend was being deployed I went to things remembered in the mall and got a clock (it has an alarm on it) and I had it engraved for him. I gave it tohim for V-day so it didnt seem like i was getting too mushy over him leaving. I did that later =) He loved it then and when he was packing to go I reminded him that clock had an alarm...he was SO happy because he needed to take an alarm clock with him! I also got him an engraved pocket knife/tool for his bday with his initials, and the airforce logo on one side and something like "no matter how far apart we are you are always in my heart' on the other side. HE LOVED IT! his friends were jealous =) hope that helped!:hi
