I finally found my papers to enroll in tricare. I am taking them in on Wednesday.

How long does it take after I enroll to start receiving care?

if you fax it in or take to the office you are effective immediately otherwise you have to wait till they get them, blah blah blah.. oh and sometimes it takes five or six mail ins to work.

oh i am going to walk it in.

So that logically means that I should have an appointment by the time I leave.

I walked my paperwork in two weeks ago and I'm still waiting on them to get me "in the system" and assign us a PCM.

If you turn them in before the 20th of the month, it goes into effect on the 1st of the next month. after the 20th, the 1st of the following month.

turn it in now and it will be effective the 1st of Oct. wait till after the 20th, the 1st of Nov.

It's only effective immediately when you are changing PCM's or regions.

All I did was change regions. :( Why is it taking so long??? They told me to wait, I should get our new cards in the mail with new PCM info in a few weeks. :sigh

you are still covered. no one ever gets their cards right away. I have NEVER used mine. Just always use my military ID. but you are covered for appts now.
your paperwork is stamped "portability" right?

well i am taking it tomorrow the 19th. thanks for that info or I may have put it off longer
