so i went today to do my glucose test and wow i forgot how horrible that drink makes me feel. it makes me dizzy and shaky after i drink it. i can't wait to get home and eat so i just ate soooooo fast

I can't imagine having to fast before having the test... I bet it would be worse.

i always go a couple hours before lunch because then by time i'm finished it's lunch time and i can get something on the way home

I blacked out after all of my three hour tests. I had to do the 3 hour with all three of mine and it made me VERY ill. :sick I think there has got to be a better way to do that kind of testing without making people go through that :sick

There is a Jelly Bean Glucose test that is supposed to be easier to stomach. My doctor said that he wanted me to have the liquid though.

Snickers bars is what I suggested. They didnt agree with me at the doctors

I had my test last week. I had to stop eating at 10pm the night before and show up at the clinic at 8 in the morning. Spend 3 hours at the clinic while being prick every other hour...and now I have to test myself(6 pricks a day) to keep a diary of how much my blood sugar level is each time for the next 5 days.

they are trying to use jelly beans in some labs now instead of the drink stuff because it has the same results but they aren't as consistent i guess so that's why it's not been accepted yet

I had to do mine at my 2 month appointment. I thought I was going to DIE.. I was sipping on the orange flavor from hell and the lady behind the counter is yelling at me to hurry up I didnt have all day and my hubby was yelling telling me to quit being a baby.. I was trying to drink and I was gagging and I didnt want to throw up and have to start all over I sat there and cried UGGGGG !!! I think I may have to do it again and I dont think I can... :(

yeah this was my second time doing it too i had it done at like 2 or 3 months too. the orange drink is good to me but then again i (L) orange soda so yah. i hate how it makes me feel though
