My sister had her baby(2nd) on Sept. 11th and I talked to her today and she said she feel very depressed, she don't want anything to do with the baby, she cries all the time and she hates life right now, I told her she needed to let her doctor know because I think she is going through PPD but she refuses to tell her doctor:sigh during the day she is the only one home with the newborn and a 2 year old so I call her almost every hour to make sure things are fine but when I do talk to her she is ALWAYS crying or yelling at her 2 year old. I don't know what to do.!!!!

Can you talk to your BIL and enlist his help in getting her to the doctor? PPD is very serious and getting her help ASAP is crucial (not meaning life threatening, but as far as her mental health and her being able to care for her kids).

Can you talk to her husband and ask him to get involved. Maybe he can go with her to the doctor and bring it up. If someone else brings it up, maybe she'd be more likely to listen to the doctor and accept it.

I agree...I would talk to her husband and tell him he needs to either persuade her into going to see a dr or see one without her and see what they say.
