View Full Version : I am sooo gonna mess with dd when she gets home today!!
sunshyne 09-18-2007, 06:52 PM An envelope came in the mail today addressed to my oldest dd...but the name was spelled wrong. I just set it aside and then started thinking about it...something seemed weird, so I decided to open it. Inside this is what it said:
Dear Trina,
I wanted to thank you for the beautiful lion plate. I'm sure you noticed that I got a stand for it and have it on display in the classroom.
I'm looking forward to a great year with you and your classmates.
Sincerely,
Mrs. *****
So, I'm thinking wth? Then I realize that she took a plate that I had given her a few months ago and gave it to the teacher. It was one of those limited edition type plates that you set up on stand etc... She really liked lions and tigers, so I found it on ebay for not too much.
Well, she did not ask about giving it away! It is hers, but she still needed to ask.
When she gets home I am going to ask her about it and say that I need to see it, so I know how big of a stand I need to get for it :lmao
I don't really care that she gave it to the class....but she really needs to ask first, so we will be having a discussion about that as well.
CoffeeGirl 09-18-2007, 06:57 PM :giggle have fun & let us know how that goes!:yes

RockstarMom 09-18-2007, 07:15 PM Aiden was forever giving his teacher last year. :lol I got a call from her when he tried to give her his discman! :lmao
sunshyne 09-18-2007, 07:23 PM She came home and I told her that I found some plate stands at the store today on sale. I asked her to bring me the plate, so that I can see what size I need to get for it. She says ok. She goes in her room for a few minutes and then comes out and says she can't find it :handup:tsktsk Then she says..."I hope I didn't throw it away by accident"
I say "so, do you like lying to me" She gives me a puzzled look...face is starting to turn red and sweat a little :lol She says "no". I ask her again, so what really happened to the plate and she fesses up.
I explain to her that she must ask before giving anything away again. I also told her that I wasn't really all that mad about the plate, but very upset about her lying to me. (I'm sure I would have lied at first too when I was a kid :giggle) Anyway, she is doing a few extra chores this afternoon for that.

:lmao yeah I asked her why she gave the teacher that ...she says "because I coudln't find anything else in my room to give her" :no She could have just came and said to me that she would like to take something nice for her teacher and we could have went and got a little something :P
Mak327 09-18-2007, 07:25 PM :giggle
Tell us how that goes with her. I'd be freaked out if I had done something like that and mom asked for it.
PrincessBlue505 09-18-2007, 07:59 PM That's pretty funny. I could totally see her going to "look" for it and telling u she "hopes she didn't accidentally throw it away." I could totally see my 8 year old brother saying that. I was LMAO when I read that.
Bryanna 09-18-2007, 08:09 PM well im glad she didnt freak out about you opening her mail... as a kid thats what i would have done.
of course.. i would have lied too... assuming i didnt say i was giving the plate away... granted i would have told.. i liked to brag about my gifts haha
AirForceWife84 09-18-2007, 08:39 PM Lol. Hope your DD learned her lesson.
Shaky 09-18-2007, 09:20 PM What a lesson! kids just think parents wont know!

Well, she has no reason to freak out about me opening her mail :dunno You never know who could have sent it...especially since her name was spelled wrong..and not in an accident kind of way.
Heather 09-18-2007, 09:21 PM That was so thoughtful of her to give her teacher something. What a sweetheart. I hope she's learned to ask before she gives her things away. Its kind of weird her teacher spelled her name wrong though.

I know (L) that is why I couldn't be too mad about her giving the actual plate away. The lying got her some extra chores though :giggle
leftover 09-18-2007, 09:27 PM The little peanut... :wub
Hopefully that's the worst thing you ever have to go through with raising a girl :lmao

that is very true and i fully agree :)
i just know what a disagreeable child i was so i'm glad she didnt react how i would have. goodness knows a child trying to argue privacy rights can be quite a nuisance when you are a parent.
