Anything they promise you at the recruiting office: MAKE SURE ITS IN THE CONTRACT. READ THAT THING 10 TIMES!!! Too many people are promised rank or MOS's and do not get them because they do not insist that it be in the paperwork.

First of all, :welflash

Dont worry until you have to. Seriously. If you worry all the time before its needed you will loose your mind - and you will be no good to you, him or the kids.

Be supportive. Talk to him about your worries, assuring him that you stand behind him.

Enjoy the ride. Unless you are "needing to worry" dont. Enjoy what you can out of the experience.

Yeah, go navy!!!

I would have to agree with this one! Deployments are shorter. Airforce is even shorter...I believe.

Make sure that you go in and talk with the recruiter with your husband. Ask a lot of questions to the recruiter. Also, go to library and check out one of those study books for the ASVAB. The higher your husband's score the better. You can add extra stuff into your contract. So make him study!

Like MIKOSWIFEY said, don't believe anything until you see it in the contract.

:welcome The lifestyle of a military SO is hard any way you slice it. Just stay strong and keep your chin up. Make sure as someone stated before that he reads his contract a million times if he has to before taking the final plunge. It's a hhhhhuuuggggeeee step. Best of luck to you guys! ;)
