holy cow this is the LAST day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe how fast it has gone. Seriously I am really over it.....I kind of wish our ball wasn't Saturday night because I need a week off from these people....haha. I know he feels the same way.

Last night we had a bbq and a regatta. It was very unorganized, but hey.....we had to leave early because it just took too long to get started. My husband has already left for the day....he went out to set up for GQ and then that's that. He has a few things to do together and they're eating one last meal as a blueshirt and then off to the campsite.........I hate that we don't even get to spend ANY part of today with him. I don't even know much about tomorrow except when to show up! He "should" get time to come home and shower, but that's not a guarantee.

But ONE more day.......one.......then my tears can be ones of happiness for him because lately they've been out of frustration.

they told us they'd get 4 hours before the pinning ceremony. GQ starts at 2:30 pm here, but they are setting up and getting ready now.....Our pinning is at 4pm tomorrow.

I "hope" he can come home to shower........he's going to be a mess. I guess I should be thankful the ball isn't the same night!

Our selectees will be able to shower and whatnot...but NOT at home! Arrangements have been made for them to have whatever shower facilities they will need to get all ready for the pinning. Everyone(chiefs) will be a mess tomorrow, not just the selectees! I'm hoping my dh holds up through the ceremony, he has to read the Fouled Anchor and it would suck if he were trip over the words!!

From Thursday morning until the pinning on Friday last year I did not see Rodney. They had to shower at the command. When they walked in they looked dead on thier feet, but perked up a bit when the ceremony started. We spent about an hour at the base recepetion and then went home where he promptly fell in bed. They'll be showering at North Island.. I have to drop him off at 1500 and won't see him until pinning tomorrow at 1000. I'm going to have to deal with the inlaws on my own... (we don't get along that well)

I have been instructed to have the biggest Green Monster with me when I get there, so that he can have it after the ceremony.

hahaa yeah they have a reception on base after and asked if we were going and I don't think we will. We've all been sick this past week and we're going on vacation next week. It's a long story, but his 2 month det that started out 2007 turned into a 7 month det that had him come home to my parents visiting a quick hop to the big island then then "hey you made chief". We haven't spent hardly ANY time with him this year......so this weekend is it as on the 29th we're going on vacation to see his family, come back on the 8th and then he goes out on det soon after......one that we didn't plan on. Oh well.....what can you do?

Jason said he's fairly sure that their command will be done at around 10pm tonight. So, he should be home, though I'm not counting on it since I half way believe that they are fully planning on making a night of it.

I'm just really happy it's finally over. It has been hell, for the most part. It's finally over though and now I can lend an ear to all future selectee spouses who have to deal with this shit :lol

Jason said thats how it's supposed to be here also. Originally it was an all nighter, then they had those hazing issues a couple weeks ago so they said it wouldn't go past 7 or 8pm, and now they're saying it'll be over after the selectees serve the chiefs dinner :suspect :hungry

ken left at like 4 this morning so he could be there in time for PT....they did their PFT this morning and then they spent the better part of the morning and afternoon going and finding stuff that they needed. a lil scavenger hunt if you will. then they had to set up at the VFW for tomorrow. they dont get to come home. we will see him tomorrow morning at 9:45. they are doing a little reception at the VFW after the pinning and the way i understand it, it isnt an optional thing......another one of the navy's finest mandofun deals!!!!!!

his sponsor called and said he and my husband would be showering at our house if it was okay because he lives pretty far away. So he's stopping over in a few minutes to drop off his uniform for tomorrow. I am going to have food for them as well......

I was out getting a pedi for tomorrow and my husband came home really quickly and didn't think he'd see me before tomorrow so he left me a long voice message on my cell saying how happy he was and thanking me for everything and just sobbing. Lord if that is ANY indication of what tomorrow is going to be like I might as well NOT wear mascara.......whew.......

YES! this went really fast!

I haven't seen dh since 4:30. he won't be home tonight, they are going to be showering at one of the selectees house since he lives closest to Galveston, I think they are spending the night on the ship ( from what I hear ) and we won't see them really until the pinning.. they can't drive tonight or tomorrow, they are under strict orders. last night my parents, MIL, and GIL ( grandmother in law :teehee) came into town.

Last year Dh was able to come home just long enough to shower and get dressed. He had an adrenaline rush because he wasn't really tired until it was all said and done. He and the 2 other guys who made it on his boat threw a small reception afterwards. He was his silly self the whole time but once he got home, he pretty much passed right out, LOL.

DH's inititation starts Saturday and his Pinning is Sunday, so we have a little more to get through. I can't believe it is almost here! They said he'd get about 4 hours of sleep before the Pinning and that he'll probably be very emotional.
